Impact Wrestling - No Surrender 2023 Preview

A PPV with a lot going on and a lot of promising match-ups & feuds. Over the last year Impact have put on some extremely good shows and this could be one of the best. Certainly has a very promising line up. The go home show had a couple of great matches and built things really well.

Even the two prelim matches have had decent build.

Deonna Purazzo vs Gisele Shaw should be a standard fare but Gresham Vs Speedball, as long as they have a decent amount of time, should be great. Would be nice to see Speedball go over here and receive a push towards a world title shot. Not bad for free on the YT channel.

Kazarian Vs Kon

Frankie has been massively underused since AEW's SCU went away. His "Elite Killer" persona almost seemed to last for two shows. He's a solid pair of hands which is why I think this is a match to line him up as the another name for when Alexander beats the winner of the 4way.

Death Dollz Vs The Hex

The Hex returning was definitely required. As has been seen in WWE, to call the women's tag team a "division" is a massive overstatement. Can't really see a classic here, maybe just some mild entertainment.

Kushida / MCMG Vs Bullet Club

Impact, the true Forbidden Door, has done extremely well with the NJPW stars they've brought in. Using KENTA here is no exception. Here we have 6 great workers and this match just cannot fail.

Hendry Vs Moose

Hopefully a serious match from Hendry. The guy is a proper unit and, having brushed shoulders with him over here at Wrestle Carnival, he's a genuine class act. His music interludes have been great entertainment but I hope he now shows that he can proper go in the ring.

Live Busted Open - Bully & Dreamer -> yawn, deffo piss break

Myers Vs Heath Vs PCO Vs Maclin

Maclin has been a revelation since signing for Impact. Can't see any of the other 3 (PCO as an outsider as he's very over with the crowd). Hoping this is a bit of a clusterf*ck match and PCO always guarantees at least one insane spot.

James Vs Slamovich

Mickie has been great in her recent storyline and Masha has been booked very strong. Could make an argument for either winning here which is why, no matter who wins, I can't see it being the end of the feud.

Josh Alexander Vs Rich Swann

Definitely gonna be a good match but there's just no chance of Swann taking it. Expecting something happening at / towards the end to set up Alexander's next opponent, possibly from the 4way.

Impact has delivered a very strong weekly TV show throughout 2023 so far. Definitely deserves to do better in the ratings. If people gave these shows and this PPV a chance, I'm sure they'd enjoy the very talented roster and some strong, well executed matches.
